Plant of the Month: Adenanthos sericeus

***Plant of the Month***

The Plant of the Month for February is Adenanthos sericeus. Adenanthos  sericeus is commonly known as Albany Woolly Bush. It is an attractive compact large shrub native to the south coast of Western Australia. Adenanthos  sericeus  has very soft silvery grey-green coloured foliage and has small bright red flowers in Spring and Summer which are attractive to nectar feeding birds. This hardy shrub will grow to a height of between 2 and 5 metres, will tolerate light frost and will use very little water once established. The Woolly Bush is great to use as a windbreak, in coastal gardens and can be hedged.
