Plant of the Month:Anigozanthos Bush Inferno

Our Plant of the Month for August is the Anigozanthos Bush Inferno. This compact and bushy Kangaroo Paw produces masses of bright red flowers over a long period from Winter through to Spring. This plant will grow best in a well drained sunny position in the garden, is bird attracting and makes a great cut flower. It is drought hardy and will also tolerate light frost. Grows to around 60cm high x 45cm wide.

Plant of the Month:Grevillea Apricot Glow

Our Plant of the Month for June is Grevillea olivacea Apricot Glow which is a great water wise shrub with dark green foliage and beautiful apricot coloured spidery flowers from Autumn to Spring. This tall shrub grows to 3 metres and suits most soil types. It does really well in a coastal garden and makes a great hedge or screen.
This will attract many birds to your garden and is very low maintenance although it is like most natives and will benefit from a light prune to keep it dense and looking good.

Our Plant of the Month for May is the Limonium Perezii Blue. Limonium is a hardy perennial growing 60cm to 1 metre tall with large clusters of deep mauve papery flowers through Spring to Autumn.
Limonium Perezii Blue will survive harsh coastal conditions, prefers well drained soils and will grow in full sun or part shade. It requires very little water once established but needs protection from frost. They look great planted en masse as border plant or in pots. They can be used as a cut flower and are very attractive to bees🐝🐝🐝

Our plant of the month for April is Lavender. Lavender is a tough woody perennial with silvery green foliage, upright flower spikes and grows into a compact shrub. Because of its Mediterranean origin it thrives in blazing hot sun and well drained dry soils. There are many different varieties and this beautiful aromatic plant comes in many colours from blue, purple, pink, white and green.
Lavender will make a stunning addition to your garden as a border, hedge or in a pot. It will suit a coastal or herb garden and because of the oil content in its leaves it has few insect pests and will attract bees and butterflies. Lavender is extremely low maintenance needing a prune only once a year.
A few varieties we have in stock are-
Lavender dentata or French Lavender has soft billowy grey green serrated leaves and flat furry spiked purple flowers.
Lavender Pink Frills is a compact shrub with pink coloured wings at the top of each flower.
Lavender Avonview has bright purple butterfly blooms above dark blue flowers.
Lavender Castillano White has white butterfly topped flowers with rich purple lower spikes and a strong scent.
